This month, we’re proud to spotlight Beaufort SC Realtor Will Achurch with The Achurch Group at HomesFinder Realty Group. Will is a Lowcountry native whose real estate career is shaped by decades of financial experience, a deep appreciation for coastal living, and a genuine commitment to the Beaufort community.
Will’s background allows him to guide buyers and sellers with clarity, strategy, and confidence. For him, real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about helping people make thoughtful decisions that align with their lifestyle, long-term goals, and connection to place.
From Beaufort Roots to a Career in Finance
Born in Beaufort, South Carolina, Will moved away at a young age and spent much of his childhood in Cary, North Carolina. He later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he built a strong foundation in business and finance.
After graduating, Will entered the banking industry, working through leadership programs and navigating multiple economic cycles. Over the years, he held senior roles with Wachovia, Ameris Bank, Wells Fargo, and Regions Bank, sharpening his analytical skills and developing a deep understanding of risk, value, and long-term planning. Despite professional success, something always felt missing.
“I was always drawn back to saltwater,” Will shared. “Even when life took me elsewhere, Beaufort always felt like home.”
A Turning Point That Led Back to the Lowcountry
While living inland, Will frequently traveled to the coast. Surfing became a regular part of his routine, and time near the ocean provided balance from a fast-paced professional life.
One quiet moment at work sparked a realization. Sitting at his desk and looking out over a pond, Will noticed a kingfisher perched outside his window.
“I remember thinking we were both in the wrong place,” he said. “That moment stuck with me.”
That realization made it clear that life was too short to wait until retirement to live where he truly wanted to be. Soon after, Will made the decision to return to Beaufort SC, where lifestyle, values, and purpose finally aligned.
From Banking to Beaufort Real Estate
Will’s transition into real estate felt natural. His wife, Amy, had already established a successful career in the industry, and Will’s background in financial analysis and deal evaluation translated seamlessly.
“I loved the analytical side of banking, but I also enjoyed the relationships and the deal-making,” Will explained. “Real estate brings all of that together in a very personal way.”
Together, Will and Amy formed a husband-and-wife real estate team, blending organization, communication, and market insight. They work with buyers and sellers across Beaufort County, including waterfront communities and Distant Island, helping clients navigate complex decisions with confidence and clarity.
A Beaufort Realtor Who Listens First
Beaufort attracts a diverse range of buyers—military families, first-time homebuyers, retirees, second-home buyers, and investors. Will believes the key to serving such a wide audience is listening before advising.
“It’s never about us,” he said. “It’s about understanding how our clients want to live.”
By taking time to understand priorities, concerns, and long-term plans, Will helps clients evaluate pricing strategies, market trends, and investment considerations without overwhelming them. This approach is especially valuable when assessing waterfront homes in Beaufort SC, where elevation, location, and environmental factors can significantly impact ownership costs and long-term value.
Residential, Commercial, and Investment Expertise
Will works across residential, commercial, and investment real estate, offering clients a comprehensive perspective that goes beyond basic buying and selling.
Waterfront properties are among his favorites due to the level of detail involved.
“Dock access, elevation, flood risk, erosion, and long-term costs all matter,” Will explained. “Understanding those details helps clients make informed decisions.”
Will also holds the CCIM designation one of the most respected credentials in commercial real estate. This advanced training allows him to assist clients with cap rates, financing impacts, return potential, and overall investment performance—making him a valuable resource for investors and business owners alike.
Living the Beaufort SC Lifestyle

When asked about favorite neighborhoods, Will points to Distant Island for its elevation, privacy, natural beauty, and proximity to town—qualities that reflect what drew him back to the Lowcountry.
Outside of work, Will enjoys surfing when conditions allow, biking, boating, and spending time outdoors. He also values Beaufort’s social side and can often be found meeting friends at local favorites like Shellring Ale Works.
“The best part of living here is how easy it is to enjoy the outdoors,” he shared. “There’s always somewhere to explore, whether you have an hour or an entire afternoon.”
Giving Back to the Beaufort Community
Community involvement plays an important role in Will’s life. He currently serves as a commissioner for the Beaufort Housing Authority, contributing to discussions around housing accessibility and responsible development.
He is also involved in land conservation efforts and organizes neighborhood litter cleanups, reflecting his belief that protecting the Lowcountry is essential for future generations.
“Housing matters and land use matters,” he said. “Preserving what makes Beaufort special is something we all share responsibility for.”
Built on Relationships and Referrals
Rather than relying heavily on paid leads, Will has built his real estate business through relationships, referrals, and repeat clients. Trust, he believes, is earned through consistency and honesty.
“My goal has always been to do the right thing for my clients,” he said. “When you focus on that, people remember—and they come back.”
Looking Ahead
With strong Lowcountry roots, a background in finance, and a genuine appreciation for coastal living, Will Achurch’s future remains firmly planted in Beaufort SC and Low Country.
“This is home,” he said. “And I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
